My Photography

My passion for photography spans decades (yes, I admit, I’ve been at it a while!) and embraces a wide range of genres. While I’ve explored photography as a career, I quickly realised that turning my hobby into a business took away the joy it brought me. It's an important lesson, sometimes keeping something as a passion is the best way to maintain the love for it.

That said, in 2025/26, I’ll be introducing photowalks and tuition as part of my SAPA services. The emphasis will be on enjoying the experience and making the most of our time together. While there will be an educational component, the real focus is on capturing the moment and taking advantage of opportunities as they come. These sessions are designed for beginners to intermediate photographers who have a good grasp of their equipment, whether that’s a camera or a smartphone. And let’s not underestimate phone photography, it’s an incredible tool in capable hands.

Locations and Sessions

I will be running sessions in areas I know well and offer great photographic opportunities, places such as Oxford, London, Brighton, and the Boscombe/Bournemouth region. The atmosphere will be informal and relaxed, with a focus on capturing unique, out-of-the-ordinary shots that stand apart from the usual photos taken in these locations. I’ll be there to provide guidance and advice whenever needed. Group sizes will be kept small to ensure a more personal experience, and I’ll also be offering 1-to-1 sessions.

As an experienced photographer, I’m proud to say that many of the images featured on this website are my own work, photography is my true passion. There’s nothing I love more than being out with my camera, always chasing the next shot and photographing from the heart.

Street photography is one of my favourite genres. I adore the raw authenticity of this art form. While I’m perfectly happy to approach someone and ask to take their photo, I find that unposed, natural moments resonate with me most. Capturing life as it unfolds—that’s where the magic happens.

My Approach to Photography

I have a true obsession with reflections and am constantly seeking out unique viewpoints. Many photographers tend to shoot exclusively from eye level, but I always encourage experimenting, get low, go high, and try to see the world differently. It’s in these perspectives that true creativity thrives.

Monochrome photography holds a special place in my heart, there’s something raw and timeless about it. I often shoot images that translate beautifully into black and white. At the same time, I’m drawn to vibrant, popping colours that leap off the screen, so I’m always on the lookout for bold, bright scenes. Patterns and textures never fail to catch my eye, and I admit, I’m a bit of a sucker for a striking architectural staircase shot.

The Wellbeing of Photography

One of the wonderful, unexpected benefits of photography is how much it contributes to my mental well-being. Simply stepping outdoors, especially into our beautiful green spaces, can do wonders. With this in mind, in 2025/26 I am introducing Photography Wellbeing Days (name subject to change!). These sessions offer a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature, truly appreciate the world around us, and take a moment to pause, observe, and listen.

During these experiences, we’ll focus not only on photography but also on connecting with nature, with ourselves, and with those around us. While capturing photos remains a key part of the day, these sessions are designed to be about so much more. Initially, they will take place in my local area, but I aim to expand to other locations over time.

Nature is beautifully unpredictable, and nothing is guaranteed especially when it comes to weather! These aspects add to the charm of the experience. I’m also considering offering a few free taster sessions to give people a sense of what to expect, though this idea requires a little more planning so please watch this space.

I truly hope you enjoy exploring my work. If you have a specific project in mind or would like to know more about my workshops or photowalks, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to hear from you.
